Douglas fir, a wood known for itĮs high strength to weight ratio and
for itĮs resistance to deflection or bending, makes a beautiful, light,
stiff and stable oar. Coveted and cherished by Northwestern rafters
and driftboaters for twenty years, these oars have been tested
and proven on whitewater rivers worldwide.

 

Sawyer Laminated Oars feature full length tapered shafts for a balance and feel available only in wood. Sawyers slight crown blades offer superb control while Northern White Ash edges and epoxy-metal tip splines* add durability. Our finish is a sealer soak plus two thick coats of the finest marine grade spar varnish. Sawyer Laminated Wood Oars all come equipped with foam grips for assured handling.

Sawyer Utility Oar
Light oars for prams, tenders and fishing catamarans. The economy solution, this oar has a slight crown blade face, but no epoxy metal mesh tip spline. It is available in legnths of 5' 1/2" to 8'.
