Sawyer wood oars are hand crafted from specially selected straight grain Douglas fir, known for it's high strength to weight ratio and resistance to deflection or bending, making our oars light without compromising stability. Natural wood bestows a beauty and connection to the great outdoors as well as allowing us to provide you a full length taper to our shafts for a counter balanced and responsive feel.

Made continuously since 1933, SMOKERS are our solid Northern White Ash wood oar. Ash lends strength, flex and durability to an oar along with natural beauty. A full length tapered shaft and slight crown tapered blade offer excellent balance and flex, a feeling unavailable in a composite oar. Made in a variety of lengths and blade profiles to fit your rowing needs.
